Parents are encouraged to become involved in all components of the program, including providing input into the curriculum, their child’s individual learning plan and the menus. Health services provide review of medical health status, screenings for hearing and vision and parent education on good dental practices and the importance of dental exams and treatment. The program includes individualized leaning plans and screening and referral for cognitive and social/emotional developmental disabilities.Īttention is paid to the health needs of each child so that health issues do not interfere with learning and development. Major funding within the Tri-Valley Head Start programs includes: Federal Migrant Head Start, State Migrant Head Start, State Migrant Child care, MN Title 1, ND Title 1, Federal Region V Head Start, State Head Start, Federal COLA/QI, CTC, USDA, Special Education, and School District Funding.The goal of the education component is to ensure children receive a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate curriculum that addresses all areas of their developmental needs.
